Amir Khan admits deal close for Mayweather bout

Former world champion boxer Amir Khan is confident of landing money spinning super fight against the Pound for Pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the next few weeks.

Khan has been lobbying for this super fight against the World Boxing Council or the WBC Light Middleweight champion ever since he was given a proper scare in his last fight against Julio Diaz at Sheffield. And now, the 27 year feels confident that the fight can be sealed with the unbeaten fighter which will be held at Las Vegas in Nevada.

The Bolton based Khan stated that this has been a fight he has always wanted and finally, he is very close to sealing the deal for the fight and he expects a positive announcement from both the camps within the next couple of weeks.

By the time the dream fight for the Briton takes place, Amir Khan will not have fought competitively for over thirteen months after he pulled out from a fight against the then reigning world champion Devon Alexander as he pushed for the fight against the American.

But according to Khan, it has done him more well than many people see because it has given him the time to work on what went wrong against Diaz and he has put in the hours with trainer Virgil Hunter during this time and he believes he will enter the ring against Money a better fighter.

Amir Khan mentioned that the time out has been good for him because for a very long time, he has been training and fighting but with this time off, he could focus on building his relationship with Virgil and this renewed relationship will be of immense help when he takes on a fighter of the caliber of the unbeaten world champion in Mayweather Jr.
